Being a Warrior

"Being a warrior is not about the act of fighting.  It's about being so prepared to face a challenge and believing so strongly in the cause you are fighting for that you refuse to quit."
-Navy SEAL Machowicz

Nike, Goddess of Victory

NIKE (or NicĂ©) was the winged goddess of victory in Greek mythology, both in battle and peaceful competition.  Hail Lady Nike!  Blessed is She!

Just Do It

A State of Mind

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you won't,
If you like to win, but don't think you can
It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost
For out in the world you'll find,
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in a state of mind.

For many a game is lost
Ere even a play is run,
And many a coward fails
Ere even his work is begun.

Think big and your deeds will grow
Think small and you'll fall behind,
Think that you can and you will
It's all a state of mind.

If you think you're out-classed, you are
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can.

Pausing for a breather...  Being a warrior isn't all it's cracked up to be sometimes.

Happy First Day of Spring!

"The Spring Equinox is considered the start of spring.  Flowers begin to blossom and bloom, and color returns to the Earth.  Ostara is one of the only two days in the year when day and night are equal.  Because of this day of symmetry, balance is one of the many magical themes for this Sabbat.  It is all about potential: the potential for balance above and below, and the potential for growth, renewal and the possibility of new starts."

Ganesh: Remover of Obstacles

"Wherever there is Ganesh there is Success and Prosperity," and "Wherever there is Success and Prosperity there is Ganesh." He is the lord of wisdom, intelligence, education, prudence, luck and fortune, gates, doors, doorways, household and writing. He is the remover of obstacles, and believed to be the harbinger of good fortune.
"Never Give Up."

Death and Destruction Workout

I had a great session with my personal trainer on Wednesday.  It felt so good to get pushed hard physically, and be able to rise to the occasion!  He joked that I was in for an hour of "death and destruction."  It was awesome!
It's been a stressful week otherwise.  A stressful two weeks actually, and next week is looking to be more of the same.  Not sure what's going around, but I'm blaming it at least partly on Mercury retrograde.  I'm trying to take extra care of myself both physically and mentally in the meantime.

The Warrior Priestess Blog

Hail and merry meet!  My name is Warrior Priestess.  Welcome to my blog.  Here I plan to journal my experiences, both spiritual and mundane, throughout this journey called life.

About me and my background:

I follow a spiritual path consisting of an eclectic mix of Norse paganism and Eastern philosophy, although I honor the divine core within all religions.  I seek to walk with truth and wisdom in all things.  I don't always succeed lol, but I try my best!  I hope that this online journal will assist me in my endeavors along the way.
